My cousin George came to pick me up this afternoon. He wanted to drive along Coney Island Ave in search of a Chevy dealership; Apparently he was tired of having to go to the one out in Bay Ridge. As we walked towards his house (to pick up his car) he began telling me about how tornadoes had hit Bay Ridge this morning. “Yeah!” he said in response to the shocked look on my face “It was on the news. Tore the roofs off some houses over there.” he finished.
I was in disbelief, so I did what I always do when I’m in disbelief; I called Jeff. Jeff couldn’t tell me whether or not a tornado had really hit Brooklyn, but he did say that he was three hours late to work. He explained that a heavy rainstorm produced over three inches of rain and flooded the subway system. “I got to the platform and it was packed. Then I waited forever for a train and it was packed too. Every train I got on was jam packed.” Jeff said.
By the time I got home I completely forgot about it. Jeff must have too, since he made no mention of it when he got home either. It was while checking my email just now that I came across an article about it. The pictures in this entry have been borrowed from that article.
