Another Mentioning

by Desirai in Uncategorized

It seems that consignment with Hey Pretty Cupcake and being a contributor in The Sampler this month has led to several mentions in other blogs. I just recieved a convo on Etsy from my good friend Kittycrossbones which said my “Tee-hee!” card was mentioned on Rare Bird Finds. The mention was made after blog owner received her August Sampler package. Here is the direct link to the entry.

I’m quickly starting to see what a great idea it was contributing my samples to The Sampler. I may have to do that again some time in the near future. I’ve also considered advertising in Bust magazine but I think I’ll wait till I’ve got all my new Lucid Dream Designs branding done.

Did I mention I’ll be selling some of my stationery at the Brooklyn Indie Market in a couple of weeks? August 25th, fellow New New Street Team member Sarah of CharlieAndSarah.etsy.com and I will be sharing a kiosk there. The Brooklyn Indie Market is currently located on Smith St. and Union St. in Brooklyn and is open from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on the weekends. If you’re in the area come stop by and say hello!

A Day Of Smiles And Laughs

by Desirai in Uncategorized

It’s August 9th and the sampler has begin distributing their packages for this month. I was quite surprised (yet ridiculously happy) to receive an email from them today. It read:

Hey there, lovely Sampler contributors!

Just a quick note to let you know when that Jen of Indie Fixx blogged
about The Sampler yesterday, she liked your items so much, she mentioned
them by name!

Check it out: http://indiefixx.com/2007/08/08/summer-sampler-goodness/

So congrats on your awesome work, ladies, and thanks for your contributions!

Go Sampler!

Aside from that, today finally marked the day I saw 200 lbs on the scale. I’ve lost 33 lbs so far though I have another 50 lbs to go before reaching my goal. I’ve only seen 200 once in the last 5 years so I feel it’s something worth celebrating. I’m excited and motivated at the thought of losing more and can’t wait till the numbers no longer begin with 2.

Right now I owe my continued weight loss to The Cookie Diet. It’s unfortunately not quite as tasty as it sounds, though not quite as torturous as one may think. For months now I’ve been eating 6 specially formulated fiber cookies a day with 1 real meal for dinner. Dinner normally consists of turkey or chicken with 2 servings of vegetables. Fruits, Bread, Pasta, Beef, Pork and certain vegetables are off limits. If you’ve had trouble losing weight over the years, and you feel you’ve tried everything, The Cookie Diet is definitely worth looking in to.

Lastly, (I swear AOL news is only around to make me laugh) I must comment about the parents who tried to name their baby “4Real”. Apparently their request for a name was denied; Numerals are not accepted in names. In protest they have instead named their son Superman though they say they will still call him 4Real. WTF? lol You can read the full article here.

For those who are reading this and have not yet commented, now is your chance. I’d like to hear what other people have to say about this.
